Emma is the main character of It's Yours. She is shy, quiet, and a major good-two-shoes. Until Jake came along Emma had never even been kissed. Jake is the father of her child, whom she has at the end of It's Yours. However, Emma no longer loves Jake at his time and he is not a part of his child's life.

Jacob is Emma's boyfriend at the beginning of It's Yours. He is also the father of her baby. Jake is selfish and vain, as well as a cheating asshole. He leaves Emma before finding out about her pregnancy to live with his grandparents in Ohio. He does not return when the baby is born.

Paul is Emma's best friend since Kindergarten. He is also her protector. Paul is a major jock and plays football as well as hockey. He came out to Emma and his parents in eighth grade. He came out to everyone else during his freshman year of high school. Paul has never liked Jake.

Thom has known Emma since sixth grade. At the end of the year he confessed that he loved her. Emma told Thom she didn't feel the same way, but the two have remained close friends. Thom still has feelings for Emma that cause him to take great risks for her. He is also on the football team with Paul.

Janie met Emma during their freshman year of high school and the two quickly became close. Janie is on the dance team as well as Honor Roll. She works in a daycare center in a gym called Heartbeats and managed to pull some strings to get Emma a job there as well.

Melissa became friends with Emma in their sophomore year shortly after Emma started dating Jake. While all of Emma's other friends form a lose-knit group, Melissa has always been on the fringe of the circle. She has also always been a little too close with Jake. Up until Emma's pregnancy, Becky is very much the stuck-up spoiled little brat. She also used to look up to Melissa; now she looks up to Emma.
