The heroine. Isabelle Reynolds is the youngest daughter of Ian and Beatrice Reynolds, and she has an older sister named Bianca who's in London and works in Oxford as an English professor. She is sixteen years old, a junior, and stands at five foot four. She is nice, intelligent, and pretty. Math, Science, and English are her favorite subjects. She has an interest in music, arts, and theater. Her favorite past time is to hang out with her best friends, Cindy Prescott, Jeremy Armstrong, and Tristen Daniels, and read. She is obsessed and in love with Taylor Lautner, and knows that he's her 'true love'. Because of her love for Taylor, she dumped Tristen after he courted her for two years. The two are still close, and she finds comfort in him. She was born in New York, where the story is set. From the earlier parts of the story, she and Jeremy didn't get along because he didn't tell her about him and Lila, but then later, they mended their broken friendship and have become close once again. Later in the story too, she and Taylor have began dating, despite Taylor not being in New York all the time.

Macy hangs out with Lila and Karen, and is the hyper and sort-of talkative one in their group. Unlike Karen, she likes attention just as much Lila does, and she talks before actually thinking what she should say. She's a big ball of energy, and she seems to annoy Lila. Lila and her are the ones who get along quite well, since Karen doesn't really talk.

Karen is one Lila's 'girls', and is considered the silent one in the group. Her silent demeanor is what sets her apart from Lila and Macy, and she doesn't really talk that much. She plays clarinet for the school band, in which Lila finds geeky. The only reason why she's associated with Lila is because her dad is business partners with Lila's dad.

Angelica is Tristen's younger sister who's in the sophomore year. She's into music like Tristen, but rather than playing instruments, she prefers mixing music on her DJ table. She's really close with Tristen, and has a love-hate relationship with him. He often teases her 'Rugrats', because she shares the same name with the character in that cartoon series. She's a bit childish, and she adores Belle.

Tristen is the first guy Belle and Cindy met when it was their first day as a freshman in high school. He's pretty cool and artistic. He sings, plays the guitar and piano, and hangs out with Belle and Cindy during lunch time. He and Belle have gone out in dates before, and actually courted her for two years. Sadly, he is only a close friend to Belle. Even though he's heartbroken and disenchanted, he never stopped loving Belle, and he became like her personal Edward Cullen, because he's gotten all overly-protective and feels responsible for Belle. He is from Toledo, Ohio, and has a younger sister named Angelica, who he often teases as 'Rugrats'. He's also got that sort-of a bad boy image. His second name is Alphonse, which Angelica uses to tease him. He owns a red Ducati motorcycle.

Bianca is the eldest daughter of Ian and Beatrice Reynolds, and is Belle's older sister. She stands at five foot six, has blue eyes, reddish-brown hair, and white complexion. The only communication she has with her sister Belle is through e-mail, since she's in London teaching English at Oxford.

Ian is Belle and Bianca's father, and husband to Beatrice Reynolds. He works at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York as the head doctor. He graduated from Harvard, and is pretty sharp and witty. He is sometimes a comedian, and enjoys watching sports and historical biographies. He is very protective of his family, and wants nothing but the best for him and his girls.

Lila Jenkins is Belle's archenemy. Just like Belle, Cindy, Jeremy, and Tristen, she is a junior. Belle and her hate each other because back when they were still in kindergarten, she spilled grape juice on Belle's dress on purpose because she found Belle too charming and irritating. And with that, they started to become hostile with each other. She's mean, is a drama queen, and she is over-the-top girly. Belle describes her as 'this innocent, pretty blonde', even though she's clearly mean. She is dating Jeremy Armstrong, and she's the reason why Belle and Jeremy aren't friends anymore. She is also the school's head cheerleader. Her father is a businessman, while her mother died when she was five. Her father is always not around, and she's lives in her posh Upper East Side home, with her maids. She is obviously a neat-freak, and is freaked out by creatures such as frogs and insects.

Jeremy is Belle's childhood friend, whom she has known since she was three years old. Jeremy was from London, and as he grew up, he learned the American language, and his British accent is still sometimes noticeable. Belle used to call him 'Armstrong' when she got mad at him for not telling her that he liked and was dating her enemy, Cecilla 'Lila' Jenkins, but as the story progresses, him and Belle managed to mend their friendship again when Lila breaks up with him. He is the football team's star player, and the school's heartthrob. He is a gentleman, and quite nice, not like the rest of his football teammates. Belle describes him "like a walking Ken doll", because of his boyish, boy-next-door looks. He has a best friend named Nate Hearst, whom he has known during his freshman year. He met Nate when they first tried out for the football team. He does not get along with Belle's other guy friend, Tristen Daniels, because of that one encounter they had at Chilly Cherry, and maybe because they are both protective of Belle, thinking that either one of them might hurt her.
