Samantha Is a seventeen year old girl. She is Marcus's girlfriend after chapter twelve. She has a dog named Kevin and works at a grocery store. She is home schooled and lives at home with her mother. Her father past aways when she was very young. She is a normal happy girl, until she is faced with terrible news. She doesn't know what to do but one thing for sure is that she can not tell Marcus.

Macus is a sevnteen year old boy. In the begining of this story he is a junior in high school and part of the track team. He becomoes intersted in Sam and begins to date. Later in the story Marcus is a senior in highschool. He lives with his mother and father and spents most of his time with Sam. He cares for her with all his heart. All he wants is for Sam to obe happy as a person and happy with him.
