Jinx has been homeless for five years. He lives in the downtown of a large city in an abandoned warehouse with other homeless kids, drug addicts, and alcoholics. He's quiet, distant, a bit cruel, and sometimes sarcastic. He doesn't trust anyone and doesn't believe he ever will.

Laker is the son of Carter and he's pretty much your average boy. He likes to joke around, have fun, hang out with friends, and will talk to anyone who talks to him. Sometimes he can be sarcastic, but who isn't? He's had a good life and whenever he meets Jinx he can't help but want to help him and show him that life isn't as bad as he thinks.
