After he meets Ellie under curious circumstances, he gets kind of curious about her. Even more after she belts it out in front of Glee Club.

Mr. Schue is a favorite teacher of the students at McKinley High. Along with being the Spanish teacher, he is also the adult in charge of Glee Club. He constantly butts heads with Sue Sylvester and will do anything to make sure that the club gets what it needs.
