Mia innocently reconnects with Ondrej and travels back to Canada to see him, but gets carried away.

Mia's step-mother, her dad's widow. Nat is a borderline alcoholic that suffers from MS, but still is a strong, but loving maternal figure to Mia. She is displeased with Mia and Ondrej's relationship. Nat has two sons from a previous marriage, Aaron and Ryan, that are briefly mentioned in both stories
