Rin was born a half demon; mother human and father a demon, but he didn't know until later, when he was fifteen. A horde of demons crossed from their world to the human world known as Assiah, posessing humans to get Rin and bring him back with them. When him and his foster father Father Fujimoto fought, Fujimoto let down his guard and was possessed by Satan, there Rin finds out that he is the illegitamate son of the Devil. To protect him and get of Satan from within him, Fujimoto killed himself. There Rin vowes to kick Satan's ass and live his life normally. In order to do that, he must become an exorcist. So he enrolled int True Cross Academy, aiming to reach for the ranking as Paladin; the top ranking of all exorcists.
