Danielle is a timid girl who grows up to become a strong woman. She is introduced as a 13 year old year seven girl from a broken home. Her father left her mother after her brother, David, committed suicide whilst under the influence of heroin. She is stuck in a love triangle between two best friends. Struggling with a drug addiction in her younger years, she learns that there are some people in life who will be there no matter what.

Brian comes from a torn household, where he must look after his mother who suffers from severe anxiety, as well as deal with an alcoholic father. He is introduced as a 14 year old entering the public school system from Christian College. Brian flees for Florida and adopts a pseudo-personality as rock star Marilyn Manson. He is best friends with Jeordie, and has always been in love with Danielle. Brian has his fair share of struggles, but there is one person he can always count on.

Jeordie is Brian's best friend, and Danielle's soul mate and support system. Jeordie is by far the most caring, compassionate and supportive person for everyone that knows him. Playing bass in the band, he dates Danielle and rides some of the hardest roads with her. He is dearly loved and respected.

Sally is Danielle's best friend and has known the guys all throughout high school. Sally moves to Florida and is a groupie just like everyone else, living with everyone and proving to constantly be a devoted friend. She is the loving girlfriend of Max.

Max is Sally's boyfriend. They met at school and have continued to be friends with everyone. He too is friends with the whole group and continues to be, following them to Florida and being consistent company.

Barb and Hugh are Brian's parents. Barb plays a large role in cementing the final stages of happiness for Danielle, Jeordie and Manson. Her undying love for her son is heartwarming.
