He cares a lot for Verena as she is the only thing that can sometimes keeps him going on in life. They've been best friends for years and he secretly regrets introducing her to Ben, even though he knew it was always going to happen and knew they would get together. He knew Ben was cheating on her but never had the heart to tell her.
