(portrayed by Amber Heard) Sadie's beauty was what attracted Max Leopold to her when she was kidnapped at age 13. Before she left, she was social, very, very beautiful, and had a lot of friends. Her closest ones were Logan and Hailee, though. When she come home after Max is arrested, she finds that Newport is nothing like it was when she was taken away. She finds that most people had given up on her a long time ago, except for her old best friends. She finds that Logan isn't the lanky troublemaker he used to be. He's gorgeous and successful. Sadie works as a cashier at her father's store until she can go to college. She never expected to fall for Logan.

[portrayed by Miley Cyrus] The only reason Stephanie decided to vollunteer so late is because she heard through Kylie that Logan volunteers. She appears later in the story, and when she does come in, she shows animosity towards Sadie. She doesn't like her with Logan one bit.

She has a crush on him, but Logan doesn't think of her more than a friend. Even though she is nice to Sadie, she thinks it's ridiculous of him to fall for Sadie instead of her. She volunteers at the hospital with Logan and Stephanie.

He found Sadie while travelling to buy some more drugs, and decided to use her for sex. He took out his anger on her, but in a twisted way, cared about her. After he's put in jail, he becomes obsessed with Sadie and starts calling her and sending her letters.

(portrayed by Megan Fox) Hailee was Sadie's best friend before she was kidnapped, and was heartbroken when she left. She dated Logan briefly during high school before they decided to just be friends. He was hopelessly in love with one of his best friends, Sadie Scott. Before he got the chance to admit his feelings, she was kidnapped. For years, he waited for her to come back, and never lost hope that she would come home. He's extremely smart and handsome, and modeled for a while in New York before deciding it wasn't for him. When Sadie comes home, he's anxious to have her. He volunteers at a local hospital and goes to Brown University, but lives off campus with his best friends, Mac and Tommy.
