She never turns down the chance to cut Abby down, and always sides with their mother on everything. She's engaged to Ben Perry, who works at her father's law firm and who is also Nick's best friend. She's setting herself up to be the "perfect housewife".

She has never gotten along with Delia and, despite the distance, has always been Abby's best friend and ally.

Live in housekeeper and cook for the Riley's, and was once nanny to the 3 girls when they were children. She is a widow, having lost her husband, Arthur, about 15 years ago. Having no children of her own, Rose has always treated Abby like a daughter, more so than the girl's own parents, though she does remain neutral when it comes to tension and squabbles within the Riley family. She and Catherine get along very well and she keeps the head of the Riley family informed on what's been happening whenever the woman comes to visit.

Despite Abby's history with her ex, Patrick has always considered Nick to be the son he never had, and still considers him to be part of the Riley family.
