Tate has a very grunge like appearance. His disposition is primarily solemn and weary, but once he's opened up to someone completely, he seems as ease. Tate always wants to please those he loves, and tries to keep Clara happy at all times. He suffers from depression and self mutilates just like Clara. There is tension between him and his mother, Constance whom he hates.

Clara Heavens is a year younger then Tate. She moved next to him at age 11, and has been in love with him ever since. He was her best friend and her first love. Clara is mainly quiet, caused by her abusive father and her mother that hates her. She can be stubborn, but always sees herself as the root of the problem. She suffers from self mutilation and depression, and only confides in Tate.
