Xander is used to being alone. No one really talks to him that much, basically because he's so self-conscious by the way he looks and dresses and it pushed people away. I mean no one wants to deal with a person who doesn't even have the confidence to look them in the eye. Xander has always been this shy and worried about his appearance, so meeting Alexis makes it no different. Well except for the fact that Alexis doesn't turn away. He's actually intrigued by Xander.
