Kat suffers from anorexia and depression since her mother died. She tried to commit suicide once, but was found by her aunt. After this, she was sent to the psychiatric hospital. Kat is very friendly, talkative, full of energy and open-minded, even if a bit shy at first. She's very interested by other people's stories and asks anything that's on her mind.

She's a Japanese girl, that went to live in America at the age of 5, with her parents. She was kidnapped and abused during high school the day of her graduation, resulting in her having Post-traumatic Stress disorder and continuous panic attacks . She's been in the hospital with therapy for over a year, during which she's recovered almost fully from the trauma. She's open-minded, shy when she doesn't know a person, but trusts those who she does know completely, leading her to trust someone easier when they know her friends. Her first name means Child of the star in Japanese. She's very proud of her Japanese roots
