Derek is the oldest brother/stepbrother in the McDonald-Venturi clan. Unlike Casey, he is laid back and loves to play pranks. Derek has said multiple times that he doesn't "do feelings" and can hug everyone but his "keener" stepsister. He was captain of his high school hockey team and is going to Queen's University in Kingston.
