Ella is a child genius who lost her mother recently. She's normally happy and hyper, but she's mellowed out since her mother's funeral. Ella studied hard because she thought that her father walked out on her mother when she was born, and her mother didn't tell her any different. Ella has already finished university, with a masters degree in medicine, one she can't put to use until she is eighteen She loves her friends, Hailey and Nick, and would do anything for them.

Emma grew up without a mother, raised by her teenage dad, her grandparents and her father's best friends. She's mature and loud, and she's fiercely protective of her father and his band. She loves her step-mother, and all her aunts. Her father told her how she came to be with him, and she has hated her real mother since. To her, her mother is dead, and she couldn't be happier. She hangs around with the band a lot, and doesn't have many friends her own age. Her next door neighbour, Rory, has a crush on her, and they give each other rides to school and back all the time. Emma doesn't want a boyfriend, since most only want her to get close to the band.

Matthew Sanders, AKA M.Shadows has raised his daughter since he found her on his parent's doorstep on morning. He had loved his daughter's mother, and it broke his heart when she disappeared. Jimmy Sullivan, AKA The Rev, is the favourite uncle, mainly because of his hyper personality and his ability to make anyone laugh. He takes an immediate liking to Ella, who he calls Luci. Brian Haner Jr, AKA Synyster Gates, is the most picked on uncle. He tried to catch Ella when they met, but she outran him. Despite being engaged, no one will let him live down his man-*** past. Zachary Baker, AKA Zacky Vengeance, is the uncle that everyone sits on. He's a living, breathing couch but he doesn't mind. He loves Emma like a daughter, just like the rest of the band, but he is more likely to listen and take Emma's side when she's arguing with her dad. Johnny Seward, AKA Johnny Christ, is the short shit uncle, who is the exact same height as Emma and Ella. He is more of a listener, and won't take sides. He doesn't get involved when Emma is in trouble, but he's there when she needs him.

Rory is the Sanders' next door neighbour. He drives Emma to school every day and has a gigantic crush on her. He wants to ask her out, but there are guys at school that he feels are better than he is, and they ask her out all the time and she says no. He's a good friend and is always there if Emma needs someone to talk to and can't tell her dad or the band.

He has dealt with guys who had hurt Ella, though he isn't the buff-est guy in the world. He's protective and kind, and he's in love with his other friend, Hailey.

Hailey is Ella's other best friend. She's kind, caring and is always there for Ella when she needs it. She isn't intimidated by Ella's intelligence and loves her like the sister she always wanted. She loves him like a brother, since they had grown up together, but she's starting to feel more for him.
