Damien is a 17 year old vampire. At the age of 5, his parents were killed by an angry mob concerning Vampires gaining equal rights. He was put in an orphanage, and at age 7, he was adopted. But unfortunately, his foster parents realized that they had adopted a vampire and immediately abandoned their home, leaving young Damien to fend for himself. For ten years Damien has lived almost alone, Orion, his cat, being his only companion. He is a member of the Angel Family (will be explained in the book).

Tia Brook is a young girl living in Tano, Alabama (Fictional place). She grew up in an abusive household, her father often doing drugs and drinking and beating her for not being pretty or popular in school. Despite this, Tia maintains a positive attitude while hiding a need for love. Of all her friends, only Terri knows that she is bisexual right now.

Terri Bradley is Tia Brook's childhood friend and bisexual girlfriend. Terri helped Tia get through most of her problems growing up, thus leading to the bond that is between them. No one knows that Tia and Terri are more than friends. Terri has been confused with Tia on several occasions due to them being almost exactly alike in nature and apperance.

Shelby Penston is a junior that befriended Tia and Terri early in their freshman year when they tried out for the cheerleading squad. Even though the two didn't make it, Shelby liked them well enough to continue hanging out with them. Shelby is currently dating Laurence Borough.
