She tries her best not to shove her culture down people's throat, but it happens from time to time. Leah calls her Jo, since Claire doesn't like her first name. Claire was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil and moved to America when she was ten, because her parents divorced. Her mom remarried an American, with Italian blood, and that's how she got her American citizenship. She met Leah through her fathers family friends, the summers she spent with her dad who now lives in São Paolo, Brazil. Leah's family moved to Long Island, New York from Richmond, Virginia. Next door neighbors to Claire, when she was thirteen and Leah was eleven. Claire's mom helped Leah's mom and family, find the house because they were old friends from Brazil. The two of them have been inseparable since.
