Briella, who prefers to be called Brie with her friends, is a 23-year old published author and current magazine editor of Back to the Blackhawks, of Blackhawks TV. She is the younger sister of Brent and Keith Seabrook and is currently in a relationship with Brent's teammate Patrick Kane. However, in a nutshell she also has feelings for Brent and Patrick's captain, Jonathan Toews. Brie wasn't always close with her brother; in fact, she rose to fame in the journalism industry without the world knowing about Brent. She and her brother finally reconnected and to this day, are practically inseparable. Brie's best friends, Katie, Sophie, and Carleigh, all work with her for Back to the Blackhawks, until Carleigh got into a sticky situation with Brie and ended up being fired. Katie is currently dating Brent's teammate, rookie Brandon Saad, while Sophie's relationship with player Andrew Shaw didn't go anywhere. Jonathan Toews is one of Briella's love interests in TSL. He is the captain of the Chicago Blackhawks and is 25 in the books, as well as in real life. He captained the Chicago Blackhawks to two Stanley Cups, one in 2010 over the Philadelphia Flyers and the other in 2013 against the Boston Bruins. He currently plays for the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL.

Patrick is Briella's current boyfriend. He's been fighting to win her heart ever since she stepped foot into the Blackhawks locker room, and he's not about to let her go easily. Patrick has won the Stanley Cup twice with his teammates, in 2010 and 2013, and in 2013, won the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs. Patrick currently plays for the Chicago Blackhawks and is currently 25 in both the books and reality.

Brent is Briella's older brother. There was a time when he didn't give a rat's ass about her; now he can't stop being the doting, protective older brother he never was. Brent has a wife, Dayna, and a son, Carter, whom Brie can't seem to stop spoiling. Brent is a brusing, stay-at-home defender for the Blackhawks. He currently plays for the Chicago Blackhawks, and is 28 in both real-life and the book. Brie is not his sister in real-life, in fact, she doesn't exist.

Carleigh is Brie's former best friend. After secretly dating Brie's boyfriend, Jonathan Toews behind her back, Brie cuts all ties from her and sends her off to Sochi to report for the Olympics.
