Meets and befriends Gage and Sloan on her first day at the school, though she sees something in Gage that makes her believe that he could someday be more than a friend. Finds most of her comic relief and support in her new home town from her (step) brother Cole.

Football/Basketball Coach and Algebra teacher at Brindle Beach High School. The first person Ana meets and Befriends on her first day at the school. Single father of three year old Delilah he's always felt he just didn't have room in his life for someone significant. Seeing Delilah with Ana, however, he changes his mind. Is in a constant battle with his ex-girlfriend, Lola, who is Delilah's mother. Counts his friends as his family,an ideal made especially true in the days and months after the sudden death of his parents.

Navy SEAL working as part of the trainging command at the base in Coronado, however, he also continues to go on missions for the secret elite force called "Delta Force", a group that only ever answers to the President. Though not Ana's real father, he is the only father she has ever known, and he has never looked at her as anything less than his true daughter.

Ana's brother, though technically a step brother. Having come out of the closet to his family at the age of 15, he is embraced by his dad, Ana's mother Elise, and Ana. His brother Brice, shuns him, and his real mother disowns him. This is what he credits as the reason he grows up to be a "real human being and not a self entitled racist prick like his brother." Works as a reporter for a popular magazine, and has chosen to live with Ana during her first year in Brindle Beach. Makes sure she is ALWAYS [i]fabulously dressed[/i]

Stuck up, self-important, and a regular guy you love to hate, Brice makes sure that Ana knows he views her as a lower being, though he lusts for her in ways that border on psychotic.
