Emily is a 17 year old teenager who's life revolves around kickboxing and karate. She started taking self defence classes in grade 7 and has advanced quickly since that time. She use to be best friends with Jake until he started bulling her, and they have been enemies ever since. When she is kidnapped to be Jake's slave she is surprised and shocked. But she doesn't plan on breaking anytime soon. She also has big anger issues, but you find out later in the story! :) Emily is also quite claustrophobic, why she isn't really sure, but she hates being stuck in small, dark places. She also got to skip Kindergarten and Grade 1 because she was that smart. P.S. I don't own the photo.

Jake is a vampire and comes from a long line of them. He started developing his powers over the summer of grade 6 and over the fall of grade 7. He learned to control his thirst, speed and strength and he got the cool ability to read minds. (he does it to Emily all the time which annoys her A LOT) After his vampire senses kicked in, he thought as humans below him and started to bully his best friend. Throughout the story, Jake learns that humans are equal and re-earns Emily's trust. P.S. I don't own this photo

Michelle is Jake's Mom and Chris's wife. She is also the Queen of Vampires. She believes that humans should be treated fairly, but still servants to vampires. She is very disappointed in her son because of the way he treats his slaves and talks about humans. She has the power to control/sense emotions and she uses this power to help people. Is the cousin of Jake (his mother is Michelle's younger sister) and he is a snobby rich kid. He somehow gets what he wants when he wants it. He and Jake do NOT get along at all. He wants to get the crown more than anything and is willing to sacrifice Emily to get it. He is tricky, deceiving and cunning. Ben is only kind to the people he wants to impress, but is a jerk to anyone else (he is a cruel master) He has the power to shape shift into anyone up to 48 hours (2 days). He often abuses this power and uses it to his advantage.

Ethan is Jake's best friend and partner in crime. They have been best buds ever since Jake moved to Nova Scotia and they have got in trouble for numerous things. Ethan somewhat respects humans, but mainly thinks that they are a waste of space and time. He doesn't own any slaves, just uses his parents. He has been a vampire his whole life and he has the power to manipulate/control fire. (He can't produce it though)
