Blind and lonely, Oli seeks comfort and love from anyone. He's good at telling when he's alone or not because his hearing and sense of smell is very heightened. He's pushed around by his father. The only thing he looks forward to is the nights when his visitor comes.

Gage is thoughtful and caring, but only towards Oli. To anyone else he seems distant. He doesn't know what drew him towards Oli's room the first night, but he's glad it did. Perhaps it was the smell of Oli's blood, since, you see, Gage is a vampire. Gage is so old that he has to guess the proximity of his own age. Gage is stuck in the teenage year form though, he looks eighteen.
