  Quinn is co-owner of the Pittsburgh Penguins, inheriting it from her father who died. She shares the team with the one and only Mario Lemieux, whom she has become close to over the past two years of owning the team. She is engaged to defenseman Kris Letang, with the wedding to take place at the end of the summer right before training camp begins. She has made an agreement with Mario that any dealings with Kris are to go solely through Mario and not her. But, when she finds out that there’s talk about trading Kris away, she quickly has to decide where her loyalty lies.

  Kris was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins and wishes to spend his entire career there, though he knows that’s not a common occurrence in the NHL. He proposed to Quinn over a year ago, and they are finally getting ready to have their wedding. When his agent tells him that he should start looking at other teams because he’s a free agent and there’s a good chance that the Penguins aren’t going to resign him, he’s not sure what to think. He wants to stay with Quinn, but he also knows his career is on the line in Pittsburgh.

  Noah is Quinn’s oldest stepbrother. He’s a hotshot lawyer who is the sole reason Quinn is still the owner of the Penguins after his brother, Dean, tried to steal the team away from her. He’s close with Quinn, having always stuck up for her when they were growing up and still feeling protective of her today. He has been married to Claire for six years, and the two of them have two daughters, Riley and Anna.

  The manipulative one of the family, Dean always has a scheme in his head. He will do anything to get what he wants, including trying to get the team away from Quinn. When that plan failed to produce the results he wanted, he set his sights on other business acquisitions. He’s always looking out for number one, and he doesn’t really care about who he hurts in the process. Quinn learned early on she can never trust Dean, and that still holds true today.

  Claire continues to work as an artist while staying at home with her two daughters, Riley and Anna. She’s close with Quinn, having bonded with her through Noah. Quinn has been known to go to Claire a lot when she’s fighting with her parents or she has an issue with Kris, and Claire’s always there to give her the support she needs, listening to her, before helping her figure out the problem at hand.

  Riley is growing up fast in Noah and Claire’s eyes, already five years old and getting ready to start kindergarten in the fall. She’s a cutie that everyone adores, and she has a close bond with her little sister, even though they’re a few years apart.

  The baby of the family (at least for now), Anna is one old. She looks just like Claire, and she's got her daddy wrapped around her little finger already.

  Corinne is Quinn’s mother who disapproves with a lot of aspects of Quinn’s life. She does not feel that her daughter should marry a player on the team she owns, and she lets Quinn know this whenever she gets the chance to do so. Corinne re-married after Quinn’s biological father and her split up, and that was how Quinn inherited a stepfather and two stepbrothers.

  Garrett has been Quinn’s stepfather for the majority of her life, and she considers him to be her father. He is a business mogul who still spoils Dean, giving him money whenever he needs it. He realizes that Corinne can be harsh on Quinn at times, but he doesn’t want to point it out, knowing it would just cause an argument with Corinne.

  Evan is Kris's agent, who is trying to get him the best deal possible, even if it isn't with the Penguins. He's constantly in meetings with both Mario and the Penguins' GM, Ray Shero, trying to get a deal done with the Pens, knowing Kris wants to stay in Pittsburgh. But, he's realistic, and he tells Kris early on that he needs to start looking at other teams because a deal with the Penguins isn't looking too good right now.
