She is one of the best detectives in the state of Montana, who she has worked for for eleven years. She is a close friend of Captain Derek Masden, and it's because of their friendship that she agrees to come back to Jersey to help with the case of The Stapler. Natasha has an older sister, Michelle, and her father, Michael, still resides in Montana with Natasha's step-mother, Julia.

Gerard has lived in New Jersey his whole life. He has worked with the New Jersey State Police Department for fifteen years, and is close friends with Captain Derek Masden. Gerard is one of the top detectives working on the case of The Stapler. He resides in Belleville. His parents are Don and Donna, and has a younger brother, Mikey.

Captain James Masden has worked for the NJSP Department for nearly twenty-five years, having previously worked for the Montana police department for five years and has been Captain for seven years. He is in charge of the Stapler case. James is originally from Brighton, England and moved to Montana when he was thirteen, before permanently residing in New Jersey with his wife, Karen, when he was twenty-seven. He and Karen have two sons and one daughter, as well have five grandchildren.

Dangerous criminal. Has been roaming the streets of New Jersey for ten years, taking the lives of innocent women in the most gruesome way possible. His name comes from the pattern he leaves on his victims. He never leaves a trace of evidence behind, making it impossible to find him.
