Jonathan Toews is one of Briella's love interests in TSL. He is the captain of the Chicago Blackhawks and is 25 in the books, as well as in real life. He captained the Chicago Blackhawks to two Stanley Cups, one in 2010 over the Philadelphia Flyers and the other in 2013 against the Boston Bruins. He currently plays for the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL.

Summer has had a hard life. She grew up with essentially no family; the only time she got close to having one was her foster family when she was 10. She was at a friend's sleepover when there was a carbon monoxide attack and that foster family all died. It seemed like fate, but Summer regarded it as cruel that she was the only who managed to escape it. For as long as she can remember, Summer has had to work hard. She was never a straight-A student, but she managed to get into a good university and get a good job. She is financially able to support herself, and is in a much better place than she was in her childhood. However, she isn't good at making friends. And because of that, she is alone. Summer is the main character in 'Trials & Tribulations'. Follow Summer's journey to find that special someone that can help turn her life upside-down. Portrayed by Megan Park.
