She was jumping back and forth between houses of her friends before the Clave caught wind and decided to send her to the New York Institute. She also has a star shaped birthmark on her left shoulder blade.

He is in love with Clary Fray but can't admit it because he thinks that they are brother and sister.

Clary is Valentine's daughter. Her mother is Jocelyn Fairchild. She was raised as a regular mundane but shortly before her 16th birthday she was attacked by a demon and her mother, who is in a coma, was taken by her father in order to gain the knowledge of the whereabouts of the Mortal Cup. She was then thrown into the world of the Clave. She currently resides in the New York Institute and her mother is still asleep. Believes that Jace is her older brother but she has feelings for him.
