Fera Newman was born with something that made it so that her life could and would never be normal. She was born with a forked tongue and eyes that nictitate. As well as that, she also has a heightened sense of smell and hearing. Her movements are more fluid, much like that of a snake. A lot of this came to be due to an injection of venom given to her mother by a Spiny Bush Viper (Atheris hispida) during her pregnancy with Fera. The venom found its way to the fetus and, instead of killing her, caused a strange genetic mutation within her. Along with the rest of her mutations, she also grew a little shorter due to the viper being naturally rather small.
