Soleil is a young girl living as an orphan on the planet Creation. She is 5'1, slender, with soft brown hair and grey eyes. She is a Custom, a child whose parents pre-determined her genes to create the perfect child. However, the Customization went wrong and many of the features she was supposed to be given were left out. Because of this, she has been deemed a failure all of her life. She is very intelligent and intuitive, and is extremely clever when it comes to machinery and technology.

Charlie is an AI interface created by Soleil. He was her younger brother, and was a Custom as well. He has curly, auburn hair and bright green eyes. He was killed in an explosion when he was 4, and while grieving for the loss of her parents and brother, Soleil created an AI using memories of Charlie. He is not as advanced as Cortana, only being able to switch between modes and not interact like she can. He responds to Soleil, though, and alerts her when he needs patching, or when something goes wrong in the system.
