Often mistaken for a man, Sophie is most certainly not. She grew up with a mess of older brothers and grew up a tomboy. She acts, talks, and dresses nothing like a girl but that doesn't mean she isn't one. Sophie is a brash woman who curses a lot and doesn't care what people think of her.

Jason Noland met Chris Rabb when he was 11 and immediately hit is off as best friends. Jason is a calm man who hardly ever gets angry. A collected persona like that is necessary around friends like his. Older brother of Sophie, he acts almost as the person who gets her going when she doesn't want to. He is the motivator.

Vanesssa "Nessie" Noland

The youngest of the Noland children, Nessie almost feels lost. At the young age of 2 weeks old, her mother died to an acute infection of mastitis, and for that, Nessie blames herself. She knows deep down that the blame couldn't possibly be put on her with good reason but her psyche needed a blame to be placed and she put it on herself. Nessie eventually looked up to Sophie as a motherly figure as she's the only other female in the family.

The oldest Noland, Shawn is the secondary parental figure. After the passing of their mother, Shawn took over half of the responsibilities so that his father could work to being in an income. Shawn helped to keep the kids in line, helped make meals and helped with house chores. He took over the position of the mother.

Out of all the Nolands, Brent is the most feminine and the only homosexual one. Often been jokingly told he should've been the one cooking and cleaning all the time, he agreed. Brent is OCD and likes things clean, organized, and balanced. He came out at the age of 22 and was well received. Everyone told him he didn't have to come out because it was painfully obvious. But to Brent, it was something he had to do to feel right with himself.

Kenneth Noland

At age 17, Kenneth had his first child with his beautiful wife, Marrissa, who was 16 at the time. They married right after they found out and stayed together for years and years afterwards, eventually havening a total of five beautiful children. Two weeks after giving birth to their last child, Marrissa died due to an acute infection in her breast. Unable to mourn the death of his love, Kenneth had to stay together for his children. Eventually out of necessity, Kenneth had to get a full time job, plus two part time jobs in order to support himself, a 2 week old who just lost her mother and four other children. A hardworking man, Kenneth is also very well loved by his many children and never puts them down, always supporting them. His only hope in life is that he didn't mess up as a father and that he did the best he could with the situation that was in front of him.
