She’s moving back to the small island she grew up on, just off of the main land. After a tough couple of years in the city, a tragedy, and a major life change, she’s going home for a fresh start. She and her small rescue dog, Zoe. Kaira went away for school in a major city, where in her senior year of fashion & design she got a job buying for a boutique. A few years, experience under her belt, and lots of hard work, now she’s a buyer for many boutiques in the city and beyond. Her older sister, Shaza, is her best friend. She has a younger sister, Kit, away at college. Both of her parents own a hardware store on the island she’s moving back to. Much more will be revealed about Kaira in the story, don’t want to ruin anything, now do we? ;) (like Cairo, the Egyptian capital, only with an “ah” at the end instead of “oh”. kye-ROH is the city kye-RAH is the character. It is NOT ‘Keira’!)

The handsome bachelor of the island. He works with his best friend’s father’s construction company, and has many meddling little old ladies on the island constantly trying to set him up with young woman, namely their grandchildren. He’s been in a serious relationship that didn’t end well (I can’t give more away, it’ll kill the surprise of the plot). He’s resigned himself to be the man-bun-donning eye-candy of the island - in the most humble way. He’s calmed down a lot through the years and enjoyed the small island life, even if everyone is always in his business.
