This was beautifully written. It was very open and honest. I can relate to it in a different way.
If you keep trying to please everyone else, then you'll never be able to please yourself. Even if you could get their approval, would you honestly be happy?
I find myself to be a selfless person.
Though, I have stopped trying to get their approval any longer.
