I liked this one because Ryan decides he doesn’t need words to communicate. He doesn’t let it stop him because he has Brendon. He doesn’t think his life is ruined because they understand each other without words.
Even though the main story was quite sad, him hurting himself and getting stuck and having to resort to ways of attracting attention the “normal” person wouldn’t have to, it has an underlying happy tone, with how he’s secure about himself (as I said above) and how he and Brendon interact with each other.
Or maybe I just find happiness in others misery? I don’t know.
One of the best I ever read.
