I loved it.
The way you never were assured that that was what the number thirteen meant until the end was pure poetry.
I had a inkling that that's what Gerard was chanting "Thirteen" for, but sometimes my inklings are wrong, so I chose not to think on it.
The only thing I saw wrong in the story is that you have some spelling errors.
Oh, and if you use a number below 100, like thirteen or fourteen, you are supposed to write it out.
Sorry, my English teacher just used to get on me all the time for that.
Other than those few mistakes, I have pure adoration for this story.
And, keep up the good work!

wow .. that was cool .. that kinda reminded me of this one joke lol .. i cant really remember it, its something like
There was a brunette walk along a street chanting 88, 88, 88, 88.
when a blonde walked past and thought it looked fun and asked to join in.
they chanted 88, 88,88,88.
then the brunette said, hey its more fun when you chant it in the middle of the road. so the blonde stood in the middle of the road and they chanted88,88,88,88.BAAMM. a car hit the blonde
the brunette laughed then started chanting 89,89,89,89.
HAHAHAAH !
or something like that ... sorry if that offended anyone !
