Awh, this was so sad!
I loved how you started the story, describing Gerard as being childish as he wipes his nose on his sleeve, for some reason I can really imagine him being really childish around Bert, and Bert looking after him.
“I want to feel your warmth, Bert. But I’m afraid that I’ll be consumed by your fire.” I think that this is my favourite line. I think you placed it perfectly in the story, and although it could have sounded as though somebody was trying too hard to be artistic, you pulled it off perfectly and I think it made me realize the emotions of Gerard, and it made me understand their characters and relationship a lot more as well – which is really good as sometimes it’s hard to develop them in a one-shot (:
“You’re the only one who makes me feel the way I do,” Gerard whispered between his kisses that he imprinted on my lips. “I can relate to you in almost every way. When I’m with you, it’s like our souls touch. Or better yet, they overlap.”
“You’re the only love I’ll ever love to the fullest. I don’t know what I’ll do without you.” I really, really love this part of the story. I just think it’s really beautiful, and it really reflects how much they love each other. It just makes me want to shout ‘WHY? DON’T BREAK UP!’ at my computer screen, although that won’t help matters at all.

This story is really really beautifully written, it was very moving to read. You really are a true artist with words, I admire your writing.
Oh and I too, love the banner you used. It's perfect, just like the one-shot. Well done!
