I got so excited when I got the update email! I adore this story! I think what really makes it work is your writing style. The simple sentences and the way everything's explained give Frank a real voice, and it makes his character seem really vivid.

And... just for the record. I've decided I don't like DrunkGerard. He led Frank on into a toilet cubical, albeit somewhat unintentionally, and then there's some blonde guy! What a fool! :XD

Wow. First off, I'm a new reader to your writing - someone suggested I should read your work but I can't remember who now. It was somebody anyway, and my gosh did they recommend the right author for me to read. This story, although not completed yet, is one of the sweetest things I have read on Mibba. I'm so glad that I took the time to read all 37 chapters, because I feel that if I didn't, I would have missed out on a great deal.

Honestly, I have never heard of Asperger's syndrome, though I have heard of autism and I know the effects it causes on human behaviour. I'd like to compliment you on your obvious research and interest in this topic. It's opened my eyes to something I never even knew about, and it's quite frankly, beautifully written.

Frank - Well, your Frank character is absolutely undoubtedly one of the best Frank's I have read on this site. I love the way that you write his mind, especially at the parts where he feels the need to fill in the reader what an expression means - for example when he said about sarcasm 'meaning the opposite to what you are saying.' He is utterly beautiful, and I love how you are able to portray his condition throughout the whole thing. That is something that is a pet hate of mine - authors starting out with a character that has a problem, then suddenly it vanishes. I'm so happy that you haven't done that. Plus, I simply must add that I cried at the part with Frank and his father out on the street. I can't remember what chapter it was, but it was utterly heart-breaking. It was described from Frank's point of view, which to me made the situation a hell of a lot sadder than it could have been. Also, I adore the way Frank has the determination to always be polite, even when he doesn't understand things - for example when he meets his dad's girlfriend with the leather handbag. He is so innocent, and pure, and I love that. It's simply incredible how you write him.

Mikey - Mikey is a character that I also adore in your story. You can see that sometimes he does get frustrated with Frank, or perhaps that's just what I interpreted, but nevertheless he always is there for Frank. I love how he tries to push as much normality onto Frank as possible - for example dating Gerard or going to the party. It shows that Mikey has a deeper connection with Frank than the reader knows about, particularly when you mention how Mikey is able to give Frank looks and he understands them, however he may not understand them so clearly on other people.

Gerard - Well, this man is an absolute god-send. I thought the part where he was reading up on Asperger's extremely cute, and I also loved how Frank wasn't offended by the gesture at all. He is obviously the perfect match for Frank, and has the patience to handle him. He can also handle Frank's blunt comments sometimes and his confusion as well - when the two of them are in the coffee shop and Frank is unable to decide what he wants. (I have a best friend who has trouble deciding everything. She doesn't have Asperger's, but she's so indecisive it hurts.)

Frank's father - Well, I totally hate this character. I want to disregard him from Frank’s life. He honestly appals me with the way he treats Frank sometimes, particularly around his new girlfriend. He's a bastard. I was trying to refrain from swearing in this comment, but I couldn't help it. It's so blatant that Frank's father doesn't want to admit to himself, or the outside world, that he has a disability. Perhaps he feels like it was his fault Frank turned out with Asperger's syndrome? Who knows? However I think we found out Frank’s father’s true feelings when he let slip about Frank being a ’retard’.

Obviously I hate the people who bully Frank, unfortunately I’ve forgotten their names for the time being, because I actually read the whole of this story last night and forgot to comment. Past my silent-reader-ism, of which I now feel ashamed, I hate it when people are picked on for something they have no control over. It’s not Frank’s fault that he hates to be touched, it’s just the way his brain is wired. I found myself hating how vulnerable Frank can be sometimes, although he tries his hardest to stick up for himself. The part where a group of them bullied him was heartbreaking, although Gerard was there to save the day, and equally to assume his position of the ‘live-saver’ in Frank’s eyes. (Of which, I think he will become more and more in this story).

Oh, and my favourite part so far? When Frank found Muffin. He’s so good with animals! He should trade jobs with Mikey, because at least that way he’d be around animals. To be honest, animals lack facial expressions and a language we can speak and human emotions, so perhaps that is why Frank finds it easier to be around animals than he is people.

Overall, I cannot wait to read more of this story. I’m simply in love with it. Actually, I’d go as far as to say I’m in love with you for writing it.
