I love that this was a sequel, and with just one line, described how much had happened between this small story and the last: "I wondered how to explain the word 'divorce." That's powerful writing, to make so much happen with just a few words.
The dreams you wrote for Billie are spectacular. In this story, as well as The Nothing, the dream really demonstrated how he was feeling and what he was going through, without actually mentioning reality. (the hurricane symbolizing the chaos in Billie's life, Mike being the only one to end it; the feeling of being in the water without it actually being there, shows Billie knows something should be there but it isn't (Mike)) That's genious, man.
I'd like to see this approach with original characters. I love fanfic, and you have a totally refreshing approach to Bike. I wouldn't even consider it slash because it's so delicate, raw, and honest. I feel that with original characters, you'd really have to build them more, to where we already know Billie and Mike, so we don't have to go into much detail about who they are. However, that is half the fun, and a true test to your writing skills (which I'm sure you'd pass admirably). Obviously, you can't go back and re-write this, but I think there's much more to your talent that you haven't tapped into yet, which will be revolutionary once you do.

So, this wasn't quite a review, but I hope it was somewhat helpful and that it served at least some purpose. You're a wonderful writer; you truly are.

I love the way you write, your description is so clear and your characterization is wonderful. I'm pleased to see that there are actually some talented writers on this site.
