I thought that even the opening to the chapter was cute, it's clear that Calla isn't a vain girl but, her own nervousness made her fidgety about even which clothes she chose to wear to a game, albeit a game that she was to meet Jon's family.
I was slightly shocked when I read that Jon's parents were worried about his game play after Jon told them about her illness, while I know people are naturally ego-centered with themselves/ their loved ones it was sad to read that they had been more concerned about how well he'd play rather than the balance of another person's life.
I hope that Calla allows herself to open up more, to love herself, she shouldn't only feel hope because others care about her, she should try to allow herself to "live everyday as if it were her last" not with the ominous feeling of "I'm sick and not getting any better.
Can't wait to see how the interactions with one another go now that Calla will be alone with Jon's family.
Just read this whole story and I really like it. I'm dying to know if Calla will really die or if she'll get her heart! This is incredibly well-written and I'm looking forward to more so please update!
I think this might be one of the most important chapters thus far because it was in regards to how Jonny and Calla's relationship is, she's more vulnerable than Jonny and she has to trust him not to hurt her. It just showed how delicate the balance of their relationship is.
I thought it was cute that Jonny enjoys the little moments with Calla since their time is inhibited by Calla's illness. I am curious as to what this tension will ultimately do to Calla and Jonny's relationship since they have obviously talked about what caused their fight, but I don't think it's completely been amended.
Anyways, it'll be interesting to see how Calla will react to speaking to Jonny after they had their emotional discussion in the rain.
While both Jonny and Pat were arguing with each other upset Calla, I'm sure if she looked back on it that they were arguing about how much they each cared for her while Pat's feelings towards Calla are purely platonic it still must be nice to have others outside her family care so much for her.
I thought it was nice that Nina took it upon herself to defuse the situation between Jonny, Pat, and Calla because she was able to be a neutral medium in such a tense situation. Not only that but, if Calla had even a female acquaintance to talk to I'm sure that she'd be happier to have someone to vent to when she's upset.
I'm sure Pat's words hurt Jonny but, it's also the harsh truth. Calla can only take care of herself to an extent and even if she doesn't want to admit it right now she's in a fragile state.
I hope that Calla doesn't revert back to being closed off to others and isn't put off from completing her bucket list even though Jonny was supposed to help her do so.
just found this story and read through it. I love it, Calla seems like the perfect girl for Jon, aside from her illness. I really hope they work everything out because they really do love each other. Keep up the great work, can't wait for more
LOOOOOOOVED ITTTT!! Why are you such a good writer? Seriously. All your stories are awesome and this is no exception! Wthell, Jonathan?? The boy is upsetting me greatly and I hurt right along with Calla. I'm gonna be honest and say I enjoy drama and this is definitely intense drama right here. But I do wanna see them happy together. Of course, not until after Jon has asked her for forgiveness for his stupid boy actions. Please update pronto!! :D :D
Oh my god. My heart literally skipped a beat when I saw you updated! Eeek!! Jonny needs to get his act together and do everything in his power to get Calla happy again. I swear. But this made me love Pat so much more!
I hadn't expected Jonny to act so childishly, I can understand wanting to cool down but if Calla was being so urgent in calling he probably should have answered knowing about how serious her heart condition is. I am glad that she did have Pat to rely on, not that she should have to since Jonny was the one that wanted her to move in so HE could feel like she is safe.
It's one thing for Jonny to be nice and have this girl sit next to him when there aren't any other seats but, it's another for him to leave his girlfriend in a vulnerable position and hold hands with this other girl that he just met. I don't think she means anything though because if he is willing to leave his ex- girlfriend to have a relationship with Calla and be so persistent for a relationship, he doesn't seem like he would be so careless.
Glad that Pat was at least there for Calla and hopefully Jonny finally gets himself composed to finally find out that his fight with Calla left her in the hospital, I'm sure he won't be happy with himself about it.
