I refuse to quote anything except for this:

In that single line you characterized Her more than you could have in a whole paragraph.

I simply loved it. There isn't much to say or point out here because I cannot pick my favorite parts or lines. The idea is well-thought through and original, the description always perfect and flowing, the language fluent and never overdone, the characters real and the whole Complex concept just too goddamn intriguing.

But you already know how good you are.
If you don't, I'll make sure to let you know about that every single day.

I like this. Even if it's not continued, it still works as a story. It's kind of like Modernist literature there at the end, where it's just this moment of life and you're left wondering what happens to the characters.
My favorite lines:

when they were questioning whether or not it was worth it to keep living and where the shelter people stalked....sometimes calling the police when they found a dead body.

but was unmistakably a boy. He couldn't genderbend like Ryan could.

(No one really knew what they did, just that they kept quiet and managed to scrape by.)

"Cocaine. But donuts work."

A oneshot, possibly a prequel.
It's an AU/AR/AT story.
FBR kids are homeless, plus Dru and Liz.
Dru's a Girl Prostitute and the oldest of The Complex kids, along with Gabe.
Liz is a Gang Kid.
Ryan is a Boy Hooker who finds Brendon and wants to keep him.
