I kept on reading, but I've never commented- so here goes it!

Erica.. Erika? [air-EEh-kah] - the lead girl.
I never really got in to her because, in the back of my mind, I kept thinking "toughen up, girl!" or "stop internalizing and move on... help yourself out!". I feel like whenever she got angry the only thing she did was sulk about it which never really made anything better. I mean, you can only say "poor me, poor me" for so long- eventually you're going to have to do something about it.
(But that isn't a criticism of your writing, because a lot of people do that in real life. I just don't like it when they do, so it ticks me off. And, technically, that means you did a good job writing it out because it ticked me off.)

What I did like was how Joe was so nice to her throughout the entire thing and how Calvin was so persistent. (Honestly, if I had known her/was her friend throughout any of this, despite what's right, I probably would have lost it on her for not taking charge of things. So Joe was a better friend than I could have been for her!)

I think that you should juice it up with a little more description around their conversations. What are they doing when they say it? How do they look? What do people think? How are they acting? You know, that kind of thing (...and maybe you can come up with something better than "juice it up", cause that sounds a little lame when I re-read that I really used that in context)

I really like where you went with this story. I'm excited to see where you take the ending and I hope this was constructive and "meaningful" like the eerie red print above this box demands.
