This is a sad story with an uplifting feel to it. I find that rare in stories these days. Let me tell you, I seriously love the progression of the characters throughout the story. I noticed that you have a specific talent when writing story and it is the development of your character's transition of thoughts & opinion. First person POV works very well when you write it. I love the setting and all the scenes that move past the "now" Oli. He is just thinking back to the most horrific day of his life and how it affected him. I just love that he went through the horrifying past and the present time, he extracted a very important message.
