I almost feel like this story could mean two things. I know it means the obvious, new lover. But it (and this is probably my weird brain) seems like it could be in mild reference to an eating/weight problem. (I'm just horrible, aren't I?) I know what you intended, I believe. But I do like the fact that I saw something that may not have been intended. Because the point of one sentence stories is to make you think.
