I loved the title, to start. It was an amazing, ironic title that matched this story perfectly. The layout was good too...I liked how you had it off to the side instead of in the center, like most people do. I love your use of words..."the flame flickering in his eyes" provided good imagery and I could almost picture everything. Good job! (:

I really enjoyed the piece. I've read a few drabbles of yours now and it amazes me how you can capture entire relationships in only a few words; to be honest, I'm envious. I've always found pyromaniacs and fire fascinating so the subject matter instantly drew me in. Your description, as always, was wonderful, especially when it is applied to such a different subject matter. Your writing in itself just made fire even more beautiful, to be honest. And I loved how you tied the beginning to the ending, with the friend with the lighter; it just wrapped the whole piece up. This was wonderful. :D

I love this. I love every single line of it. I have to say that I wouldn't want you to change a line of it. I think it all fits in with the character. And I just loved it. I think you could do so much with it. I now it's a short story but I still think it's awesome. I can almost just see this fire obsession and it gets me giddy! I bow to this story. It made me happy and yet not and I can't exactly explain it!

I like the way it's told, but I really wasn't crazy about this "line". my obsession with fire that is I just felt like it was unnecessary. It felt like the reader could already figure it out. I'm a big fan of showing versus telling though so maybe that's my bias showing.

I like how it opens with the friend with the lighter and then it gives us some sort of backstory, a glimpse into why the narrator is obsessed with fire, which is a different reason that what I've heard before. But then I like how it all ties back to the friend with the lighter.

I found this really interesting and different, just cause I've never really read something like this before. I'm not a big fan of fire, but this was a good thing to read. You described it like it was real person, and that you controlled it and everything. To write about fire like this is very clever and I think it's just like a short story about it, with the obsession about the fire and all that. This was great and very unique. Amazing job. :)

Well, I find fire to be very interesting. And while I'm not that into playing with fire, I liked the whole rhyme and reason as to why she has this odd fascination with the fire. It was mainly about the control, and you showed that excellently. Great job!

I agree with all these comments for sure. I thought this was very realistic type of writing, it was abstract with a sweet drop of simplicity. I liked how the only person that understood her was another pyro, which made a lot of sense to me. My favorite lines:

"I think that’s what compels me take a drag off the occasional cigarette, I like to have control of something which is burning into ashes by the second."

Oooh, I like it. Especially the part about the cigarette, because I always just think that cigarettes are death sticks, but the description you used opened up my mind a little to a different perspective about control and such. Awesomely done. :)

You have a great use of words.
Seriously, you know how to twist them and make them into something beautiful.
I love the concept of this, the whole fire bit.
I find pyros to be very interesting.
    Great job.

Woah...pyromaniac much? I love it. It's deep and metaphorical but not too 'out there' and confusing.
    Good job :)

Hmm.. it was amazing, dear. (:
Totally not what I was expecting, either; which made it just that much more enjoyable.
I really, really liked what this story was about.
    Fire; it's awesome.
Your descriptions of the girl and whoever "his friend" is are highly realistic.
Background details added into its awesomeness as well.

Anyway, there were absolutely no errors in it and it was great.
    Amazing job!
