I think this was beautifully written, I don't think I've read Skinwalkers so I can't say that this is better, but I think it is captivating, especially because I have a soft spot for nature (ie. the sea) and I like the little scene you have set up.

I think you should continue this, for the sake of not reading Skinwalkers, or perhaps you should just continue both? :)

Dude... and we are supposed to choose? Hm... I don't know, but maybe because I like fantasy more, I'm going to go with Skinwalkers. There is mystery there and adventure I want to know about. But this one is just as cool. The prologue was very intriguing, makes you wonder where Leo wants to go and what will he find on his way. :)
