This looks to be a pretty good story. There two things I would advise and I don't mean to sound 'bitchy' but it gets kind of annoying to see one thing repeatedly with new and semi-new authors. One thing I would advise: making a new paragraph when people are talking. It's one of the things I see A LOT with new and semi-new writers. When you read a novel (either a paperback/hardcover, one online or even some of the seasoned members here on mibba) they all have seperate paragraphs to differentiate who's talking. It looks nice AND it's easy to tell who's talking. I know the easy way out is just to have one jumbled paragraph but in the long run, new paragraphs are your friend. Second: delete the first 'chapter.' please. Eventually, if you haven't already, you will be reported for that as well. The reasoning: it's an author's note and not really considered a chapter. An easy way to post a reason-why-everything-got-deleted is in the summary or in a journal/blog on here or elsewhere that you can post a link to in the summary.
