:) This is very well written, it could use a little more detail and description but you definitely did a good job adding the historical vibe. You made me infer what time it was without telling me, that's GOOD! And I honestly felt that women's rights and the such did play an important part--- but only to the character's themselves and you did a great job of letting them stand on their own with their own personalities without making the short story revolve around their issues.

If I could rate this with stars, I'd make it a 7 out of 5! :)
