I have nothing against you being Christian and I actually support religion (though I'm not religious myself), it's the censorship part I'm against. I know not all Christian families are super protective and whatnot, but I strongly disagree with the use of religion to impose censorship on anything partly because of the fact that religion is peaceful and teaches valuable morals and such and partly because of the fact that literature is a beautiful part of our culture and should be appreciated as such regardless of the theme of said literature, so I'm sorry if I offended you :D Also, thank you:)<3

I'm a Christian, and my parents have no problem with these books (which I absolutely LOVE). I know that they are (obviously) just fantasy. Plus, the Chronicles of Narnia are extremely popular within the Christian culture, and those also have witch craft. This is a really well written paper :] I'm glad you did well on it!

I don't get why some Christians are so against the Harry Potter books. When you read a book, you have to keep in mind the purpose and the audience. JK Rowling's purpose in writing these books wasn't to promote Satan or start a cult or something.
And to the first person that commented on this, there IS uproar for books like Twilight, and lots of it.

Pretty good. And besides, RELIGION teaches you that you can't read this stuff.
And since I don't believe in religion, I read whatever I want.

    That was a great artical!
My parents let me read Harry Potter, yet freaked out when I read Phillip Pullman's 'Golden Compass' books. These are FARIETALES, we might as well keep kids from reading Hans Christian-Anderson fables because those are full of 'witch craft'.

    * A fan who is left wondering why there is no uproar about vampires being 'un-Christian-like'.

    This was very well-written.

I, myself, am a fan of Harry Potter.
