    Oh, wow. I really did not expect that ending. It really was a fantastic twist on a cliche, something I didn't see coming, at all. It's a fantastic look at how things change through the years, at how brief life really can be. People just expect things to last forever, they expect to live forever. I just love the whole concept of this story. The idea of love being forever contrasted with the brutal reality of inevitable death.

    My only complaint is that the first paragraph seems rather long, although that could be attributed to style, I guess. I'd suggest breaking it up into two paragraphs, perhaps? I quite enjoyed this piece, and it really touched me. Then again, all your writing has that affect, so.

    ...If I wasn't wearing liquid eyeliner I might be crying right now.
    However, if I cry I have to re-do my make up and nothing is worse that pain.

    But seriously, I adored this. Like the above commenters, the description is what really got me.

    Beautiful! Short but full of detail that kept me reading to the next line, even if the ending was sad.
