I really enjoy this.
You put the perfect amount of detail, not too little, not too much. Which is something I always look for.
Your writing style is perfect for this kind of story.
This part:
"I was abruptly awakened from my peaceful sleep by the thumping electronic bass of a Lady Gaga album pounding through my bedroom walls. I groaned loudly, realizing that it must have been my roommate that was making that racket, since no one else was home when I got back from my hellish day of work, and tried to block out the sound by clamping a pillow tightly over my head. I was nearly asleep once again before the sound of the music flooded through my bedroom at an alarmingly loud level as the door flung open."
Was absolutly perfect in my eyes. The words you use complimented in well, and again with the detail, perfect.
I really do love Demarcus. All the characters have different personalities, which is great.
And you can see the way they're different, as well.
Surprisingly enough, Ashley is my favorite character so far. I like his attitude and how he interacted with the other two.
I also like the plot. I'll be subscribing to see where this goes.
