A Little Princess - Comments

  • The Layout: is absolutely stunning and I adore it. The picture is adorable and I thought the story would be way different but it turned out to be quite great.

The Story itself is quite amazing, I personally believe that that is how a little girl would actually think like. The little girl was amusing at times but she was also the type of girl that I would just want to hug and watch disney channel with or take with me to ballet class.

Fantastic, amazing, and just plain great. I loved it <3

  • The layout is stunning and the colors go together quite nicely. The banner is adorable. Also, it's pink. Pink is what I instantly think of when I think of little girls and princesses. <3 This was so cute and adorable that it's unreal. I love how you made how a little girl thinks so obvious in this small piece. I haven't thought like that in years, but it takes me back to that time. And it makes me smile. So thanks so much. :)

I loved the like towards the end about the knight turning into a 'meanie-face' haha, child insults are always amusing.

    Fantastic job, m'dear. <3

  • The first thing to catch my eye was the layout. The colors and text go very nicely together and the banner looked very cute. I also loved that quote on the banner. I imagined that I could feel the knight holding my hands as we spinned around in a field of daisies, pretended to hide behind him as a princess should when a fierce dragon attacked me.--you really portrayed how a small girl thinks and how imaginative they can be. I adored that part very much because at some point in my life I had the same thoughts <3

    Nicely done.

  • This was absolutely cute. I loved the banner and the quote from The Little Princess (I love that movie so, so much); that's pretty much what hooked me in.

It's so cute how the narration is from the girl's point of view, yet sad, because her confusion is so obvious. It's realistic, and easy to follow, because it flows so nicely. Also, the mother's reaction to her protest... that's so like my mom and her sisters, and I really got into the girl's shoes. I could understand her, relate to her, which is simply great, because it hooks up the reader even more.

To tell you the truth, my eyes watered when all her princess dresses were taken away, with no explanation whatsoever other than "you're a grown up, now." It just broke my heart to read how she just refused to believe that you'd stop being a princess simply because you grew older.

The descriptions are so wonderful and flow amazingly with the narration, which, in turn, goes perfectly with the characterization of the girl and how it relates to her age and what's going through.

    I absolutely loved it.

  • Oh. I've read this. But anyway, here I go.

    Title
At first it made me think of frivolity, pink candy floss and tutus. Definitely not my kind of thing, but still... appropriately named.

    Layout
Nice, cute, well done. No overdoing on pink, or any cutesy color. I like your banner.

    The Story
It's not easy to write something from a child's perspective, I know. The fact that you've done it so beautifully, so easily, is brilliant. Good idea on the use of simple words throughout the whole story. For some strange reason, when I read that the mother was taking her things away, I thought she was being abused. But then, I realized that maybe it had a metaphorical meaning to it.

Good imagery, nine out of ten for the descriptions.

    Well done on this one!

  • That is so cute!! :D I love that idea, and I admit I'm the same, I still like to believe I'm a little princess XD
How mean of her mother :( She was only six! Not old enough yet to grow out of dressing up and definitely way too young to stop pretending to be a princess!
It's a cute story, and very true. Well done :)

  • I absolutely love this!
It covers everything a little girl wants to be, and how dad's see their daughter, all in the little girl's thoughts.
You convey emotion very well. I was pulling a sad smile when the mom threw away the girl's princess outfits. I then cheered when she decided to pull out her ballerina tutu and use her blanket as a cape. Smiley
This also shows that you need to be a kid while you can, since, to me, the throwing away of the clothes was her mom signaling her to grow up.
