This reminds me a lot of how I felt when I moved. I think you described that surreal moment when you look around your room that isn't physically yours anymore for the last time perfectly. As someone above said, I love how through describing the room we have also been given a brief tour of the narrator's life, past and present. It make me kind of identify with her and wish her the best.
I caught two errors: I turn to look at the shelf that are now bare. - That should either be "shelves that are..." or "shelf that is..."
and we would revert back to our silly teenage selfs, - I believe that should be "selves".
Anyway, though, nice work and congrats on 2nd place!

    Well done on second place!
I think you deserved it, or even first place!
Your description of the room and the actions within it was perfect, and you managed to take the reader on a long journey in a small amount of words.
    Great Job.

I absolutely love this. I love how you've taken a place- this girl's room- and have taken us on a tour of her entire life at how she's loved and hated and been kissed and been naughty in this room. How much she stayed in it and how much she ventured outside of it. I felt this this was a really amazing and important piece, at least to me.

I really enjoyed reading this. Like the commenters abover me, I also enjoyed your use of description, though that wasn't really what stuck out the most for me. The flow of the story was what hooked me into it, the way that the colors on the wall changed as she matured. Though I couldn't relate to it personally because I've never been attached to my room, I could feel all of the emotions of the main character housed up in that room.

    Stunning.
I could feel the emotion throughout the piece, and I thought you wrote this perfectly <3
    I loved your description.
    Great Job!

I love it, it's beautiful and really captures the emotion she's feeling. I myself have never lived in once place longer than 4 years, so I've never had an attachment to a room, but it's easy to see how people can form one when reading this piece. The word choice and phrasing fit it perfectly, and the ending was great. It was nice that it was a little bittersweet, it was very realistic.
    Great piece :)

This was beautiful, and as one of the older users on here I could absolutely relate to it.
You describe every thought and emotion beautifully, and I found it really easy to place myself inside the narrators mind.
Also, the last line was the perfect ending to the story.
I really really enjoyed it. Well done. :)

This was just . . . beautiful! Seriously. I love how the subject is so simple yet you explore it so intricately. I also love that I can relate, because I'll be going to uni next year and I know I'll miss my room loads. The description was fantastic and I could really get a sense of the narrators emotions. It brilliantly worded too . . . just fab, overall :D

This really reminded me of my own room, in a way. The story was good and really made you imagine what it's like to move out on your own and finally leave your childhood behind. There were a few spelling errors so I'd recommend giving it a read over but overall this was good. :D

    >.> The nostalgia is so overwhelming in this piece of writing. This was just too beautiful-and true. I'm sure many of us can relate to having last memories of a place you called home for so long. The picture really suited the story, and the last line reminded me of something: I will never forget.--this reminded me of a scene in KH, when Xion had said "Never forget-that's the truth." So I really though that line was very beautiful <3 nicely done.

I thought the beginning was done right and set a great mood for this. I really liked it because you pretty much summed up the stages of life we all go through and think about as teenagers (I know I have) about how we've changed. I thought the aspect of things don't stay the same forever, for better or worse will eventually occur and the fact that when we become teenagers, we finally get that! With this character you give us the strong connection a person could have to a bedroom, and I agree 100% with the emotions in this story because I've never stayed in a house longer than four years and a room is sometimes all a person has to call their own and you convey that rather nicely here. There were a few spelling errors. A word missing here and there, give this one more read through and I'll think you'll catch them. :)

Re-read it and I loved it even more the second time.
I feel when you re-read or re-watch something you understand and like it more.
This is very good and as silk tea. said, the colors fit the setting perfectly.
Your emotions and descriptions were very vivid and real. Well done. <3

Normally, I'd be bitching about the dark colors, but for some reason I feel it works very nicely with this particular...setting.

The writing, I enjoyed very much. It seems to me that your forte is in description, and that is the very same for me. I really enjoyed reading your scenery descriptions as well as the story in general, which just went and flowed together very nicely. :)

I liked this a lot. Reminds me of how I'll feel when I have to leave my room, because I have my whole life full of memories in there. It's really sweet, awesome job. :D <3
